The ancient city in Jingzhou

The ancient city was initially built during the period of the Three Kingdoms (Wei, Shu and Wu) which divided China from A.D. 222--280). It is said General Guanyu (a general of the state of Shu) who constructed it, it was rebuilt in every dynasty. The city in existence, rebuilt in Qing Dynasty, contains 6 gates, 3 caves (used to shelter soldiers) and many city-gate towers, which have been renovated in recent years. The ancient city, the capital of the state of Chu, is major cultural relics protected by Chinese government. A large number of unearthed relics, such as the gold coins (Ying¡¯ ai) of Chu, the male body of a Western Han (206B.C.--23A.D.), silks from the Warring States (475B.C--221B.C) and the sword owned by the king of the state of Yue, are exhibited in the Jingzhou museum. Over 100,000 cultural relics, including rare national treasures, help you to know the Chinese history.
